DENPASAR - A man named Oni Try Yansa (26), a clothing store employee, was arrested by South Denpasar Police, Bali. Oni stole hundreds of clothes at work.

"For the loss, 12 plastic bags filled with clothes were about 360 pieces of clothing," said South Denpasar Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, AKP Hadimastika Karsito Putro, Friday, July 2.

The theft was carried out at a clothing store located on Jalan Pulau Moyo, South Denpasar, Bali, Monday, June 28.

The victim, Bani Arqom, initially called his employee asking for Oni. Oni alias the perpetrator is known to have brought two bags of clothes.

The victim became suspicious because he had never asked Oni to take things out of the shop. The victim checked into the store and found the merchandise had disappeared.

"For the incident, the victim reported to the South Denpasar Police, to get further treatment. The total loss was Rp. 12,600,000," added AKP Hadimastika.

The police investigated the case and arrested the perpetrator at his workplace. In the initial examination, the perpetrator admitted to stealing merchandise at his place of work. He asked his friend to resell stolen clothes.

"The perpetrator's mode is to easily take the victim's belongings at random so that the victim does not know. The motive is because the economy is squeezed and the money is used for daily life," said AKP Hadimastika.
