JAKARTA - The National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) on Wednesday afternoon discovered a five-hectare marijuana field in the Singgah Mata Mountains area, Beutong Ateuh District, Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh Province.

"The discovery of more than five hectares of marijuana fields in Nagan Raya is after the National Police-Criminal Investigation Agency personnel developed a marijuana distribution case," said Nagan Raya Police Chief, Grand Commissioner Adjutant Risno, who was contacted from Banda Aceh, Wednesday.

According to him, in this discovery, the police have arrested a number of suspects who are suspected to be related to possession of marijuana fields in this area.

"Currently the team is still at the location of the marijuana field in the forest area around the mountains," said Risno.

To go to the location of the marijuana field, the Criminal Investigation Police personnel were assisted by dozens of members of the Nagan Raya Aceh Police and Central Aceh Police.

Even though he was already at the location of the marijuana field, Police Chief Risno admitted that he could not confirm how many cannabis plants were found in the five-hectare area in the mountainous area of Nagan Raya.

"Currently the team is still working on the location," he said.
