Spokesman Denies Prabowo Using Ivermectin For 4 Months

JAKARTA - Spokesman for Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, denied that Prabowo had taken Ivermectin for the past four months. He said the chairman of the Gerindra Party had never used the drug.

This was conveyed by him in response to the statement by the Vice President of PT Harsen Laboratories, Sofia Koswara, who said that Prabowo had regularly consumed Ivermectin for four months.

"The statement is not true. Pak Prabowo does not take the drug for prevention or for other treatment," Dahnil told reporters, Tuesday, June 29.

He also said that Prabowo's personal doctor, Benny Octavianus, also denied the claim. Dahnil said, Benny stated that he had never told Sofia that Prabowo used Ivermectin.

"Doctor Benny, who is the company's source of information, has also denied this claim to us. He stated that he never said that Pak Prabowo had taken the drug," he said.

Similarly, the Daily Chair of the Gerindra Party DPP Sufmi Dasco Ahmad also denied any statements about Prabowo's use of Ivermectin. In fact, he has clarified directly to the former Danjen Kopassus.

"It's not true that Pak Prabowo has taken Ivermectin. I asked him directly and he denied taking the drug," said Dasco.

Dasco said the claim was misleading and asked Sofia to retract her statement because it did not match the facts. "It's an untrue statement and misleading news," he said.

"I ask for the statement to be revoked because it does not match the facts. Do not let the public get information that is not true," added Dasco.

For information, Sofia claimed Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto routinely drank Ivermectin, which is a drug for the indications for worms, on the recommendation of his Special Staff and Personal Doctor, Benny Octavianus.

"The doctor has given his beloved patient, Mr. Defense Minister Prabowo, with Ivermectin for prevention for the past four months," Sofia said in an online event held Monday, June 28 yesterday.
