Surakarta Police Are Still Investigating The Case Of The Destruction Of The Cemoro Twin Tombs

SOLO - The Surakarta City Police Investigative Team is still processing the case of tomb destruction at the Cemoro Kembar Cemetery in Mojo Village, Pasar Kliwon District, Solo, Central Java.

Surakarta Police Chief Commissioner Ade Safri Simanjuntak said the Detective and Criminal Unit (Satreskrim) investigation team was still working to investigate the case.

"We continue to carry out the investigations. We examined a number of victim-witnesses and caregivers of an existing educational institution. We also met with local community leaders. The head of the and the Mojo Neighborhood and Village Chief have agreed to jointly suppress residents so they are not provoked and remain calm waiting for the legal process which is currently underway", said the Police Chief, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 22.

His party has also communicated with community leaders and religious leaders around the location. All agreed that on Wednesday, June 23, repairs would be made to the tomb or headstone that was damaged some time ago.

"We agree with all elements of society to repair the damaged tombstones. Tolerance must exist and be enforced in the city of Surakarta and no intolerant actions will be carried out in the city of Solo", continued the Police Chief.

There are six caregivers in the location learning activities that have been checked. While 39 children are students in an educational institution that does not have a permit.

The vandalism incident at the Cemoro Kembar public cemetery, Mojo Village, Pasar Kliwon Solo, occurred on Wednesday, June 16 by about 10 students at an educational institution in the area. From the results of the examination, there were about 12 tombs that were damaged.

According to witnesses, the destruction of the tomb was carried out by about 10 children who were students of the educational institution led by Mujair, which was located near the tomb.
