Harley-Davidson Experiences Data Leaks, A Total Of 66,700 Customers Are Threatened

JAKARTA - Harley-Davidson is one of the world's most iconic motorcycle manufacturers founded in 1903 in the United States. Harley-Davidson operates in various international markets, providing motorcycles, accessories, and essential services for its customers.

With a very loyal customer base and a globally spread network of dealers, Harley-Davidson has turned out to be a high-value target for cybercriminals.

Now bad news has come for fans or owners of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. It is reported that this brand has leaked its customer data.

According to a report from RedHotCyber that was confiscated by RideApart, Friday, January 3, the perpetrator managed to steal data in December 2024 and managed to break into around 66,700 Harley-Davidson subscriber data records.

In a forum post, the perpetrator stated that the information obtained included a number of personal details such as name, address, email, and preference related to other vehicles.

An example has been reported in a forum showing a set of data that may be taken from the company's IT division or performed from third parties.

The attack is said to be related to a group identified as 888, which is known to have a reputation in cybercriminals for issuing high-level violations and linked to the cyberniggers' group.

Currently, there are no further details regarding the methodology used to carry out attacks or the nature of the vulnerability exploited.

Allegations of this data leak could have serious consequences for Harley-Davidson subscribers. Personal information such as name, address, and preference can be used for malicious purposes, including identity theft, financial fraud, and targeted phishing campaigns.

In addition, exposure to vehicle data can pose additional risks to users' personal security. Not only that, cases of this size can also damage brand reputation and cause regulatory fines if data protection violations are found.

Until now, Harley-Davidson has not provided an official explanation regarding the data leak case.
