House of Representatives Asks National Police Chief To Criminalize Naughty Police Chiefs, Don't Just Transfer

JAKARTA - Member of House of Representatives Commission III, Johan Budi, asked the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to be firm in enforcing the policy of rewards and punishments for his staff.

One of them, said Johan Budi, is that if there is a naughty police chief or police chief who violates his obligations in carrying out his duties, The National Police Chief can't give punishment just a transfer them.

"Now is the momentum with the new National Police Chief, if the Police Chief is naughty, don't transfer the naughty police chief, Sir", said Johan Budi during a working meeting of Commission III with the National Police Chief at the House of Representatives building, Senayan, Wednesday, June 16.

According to Johan Budi, the transfer penalty is not enough. The police chief or the police chief who violates the law should receive criminal penalties. Especially if they make a big enough mistake.

"Take him to the criminal realm, because it's a criminal offense in my opinion. If you play around with the project or blackmail the head of the police, the head of the police, it needs to be arrested, not just transferred", said Johan Budi.

In conclusion, the working meeting of the House of Representatives Commission III appreciated the performance of the National Police in realizing the Priority and Commitment Program for the Chief of Police that had a positive impact on the community so that the level of trust and satisfaction with the National Police increased.

In addition, the House of Representatives Commission III supports the National Police in the context of realizing the National Police Strategic Plan 2020-2024 for the realization of a predictive, accountable, and transparent, and just Police to support the creation of a sovereign, independent, and just Indonesia.

Then, the House of Representatives Commission III urges the National Police Chief to speed up the completion of cases that attract public attention and take firm action against acts of thuggery, extortion, drugs, land mafias, human rights violations, and other crimes to create a sense of security and legal certainty in the community.
