Chinese Actress Zhao Lusi Shares Struggle Against Depression And Physical Violence

Zhao Lusi, a popular actress from China, recently revealed his personal experience of dealing with physical violence and a long struggle against depression.

In a post on Weibo, a few weeks after he was spotted in a wheelchair at a hospital, the 26-year-old actress shared her story. The upload was accompanied by photos showing the recovery process.

Zhao revealed that he had been experiencing symptoms of depression since 2019.

"I often hear words like, 'Don't think too much' or 'Try to think positively, everything will be fine.' I even felt that I was too sensitive and dramatic, so I didn't take my mental health seriously," Zhao wrote in his post.

He emphasized that depression cannot be resolved just by thinking positively or talking about it.

Zhao also shared various health problems he had experienced over the years, including pneumonia, hearing loss, excessive itching, nausea, and pain in the neck.

"I also face the loss of my loved ones and the news of a successful diagnosis of cancer in the family. All of this makes me ignore my own feelings and problems," he said.

In addition to health problems, Zhao revealed his bitter experience of dealing with bullying and physical violence in the past.

"When I took tutoring after school, I was beaten in a teacher's dormitory. At that time, I thought being punished because bad grades were normal and didn't dare to speak because I was taught to always make mistakes on myself," he said.

He also shared the experience of being beaten again when he failed to audition. "I don't dare to make a fuss and just want to run away. I'm used to handling everything myself and never feel comfortable asking anyone for help," he added.

Zhao explained that so far he chose not to publish his health problems because he was worried it would be considered a strategy to seek attention.

In closing his upload, Zhao expressed his gratitude to everyone who had given him support.

"Because of love, I can come back to life. I hope you all have a happy and happy new year," he wrote.
