JAKARTA - Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka met an online motorcycle taxi driver (Ojol) who went viral for delivering liquor. In his confession, the driver with the initials AN was detained by the authorities and named a suspect.

Gibran said this problem has been resolved properly. The driver with the initials AN has been operating, as usual, delivering passengers and taking orders again.

"This has been completed, they have resumed their activities and are not suspects, that is the most important thing. I ordered next time to be more vigilant", explained Gibran, who was accompanied by two motorcycle taxi drivers, quoted from the Surakarta news Youtube channel, Tuesday, June 15.

The eldest son of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) added that this issue should be a concern for companies, including drivers, to be more vigilant and careful. When necessary, all transaction data is actually stored as evidence.

"So who sends who receives who, later if there is a problem like this everything can be resolved properly. The important thing is that both of them are active. Before sending the goods, first, check what the goods are", said Gibran.

Meanwhile, according to AN, he only has the status of a witness, not a suspect. All further investigations have been handed over to the authorities.

AN also expresses many thanks, both to the Solo City Government, PT Gojek, who have provided protection and assistance in the case.

"To anticipate later, Gojek Indonesia will always be ready to assist, because we take orders after the SOP and are registered in the application. If it is not registered in the application, the driver does not take orders like this," he asserted.

This case of delivery of alcohol by a driver in Solo was previously viral on various social media lines. The driver with the initials AN shared his case on social media. AN was named a suspect after being caught delivering alcohol.

Deputy head of Solo police, AKBP Denny Heryanto, clearly denied the status of suspect AN. He is only being asked for information on allegations of minor criminal offenses. "Maybe he (the motorcycle taxi driver) will be included in the trial, to provide information to the judge, but if the suspect is not, it's not", he said.

Denny also denied the rumors about the police deliberately arresting the driver AN. "There's nothing like that. The police don't work like that. It's caught red-handed, which obviously must be questioned", said Denny.
