JAKARTA - The Central Executive Board (DPP) of Global Investment Alert Smartness (CWIG) received many reports of alleged violations of the ITE Law and consumer rights from members of PT BEST.

Based on the many reports of members who were harmed, CWIG officially sent an open subpoena to the multi-level marketing company (MLM).

"CWIG asks the CEO of PT BEST to apologize publicly to all members through the mass media (online, print and electronic). Then make payment of all member rights, including bonuses, royalties and rewards, accompanied by transparent and auditable financial reports," said the Chairman of the DPP-CWIG, Henry Hosang in Jakarta, Thursday night (12/6/2025).

Henry also requested that the MLM company restore access to blocked or frozen member accounts without a valid legal basis.

Henry said the MLM company must also stop moving the structure of the member network unilaterally, and return it to its original condition.

Then, stop any internal system practices that have the potential to violate the law. Submit an official response/response in writing to this subpoena.

"This summons was issued as a follow-up to a number of reports from the public, especially members of PT. BEST who complained about alleged violations of consumer rights," he said.

Based on initial verification, CWIG suspects that there are indications of actions that have the potential to violate the provisions regarding Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE), as amended by Law No.19 of 2016 regarding illegal access to consumer/member electronic systems, as regulated in Article 32 paragraph (1) of Law no. 11 of 2008.

"There are allegations of manipulation of information and/or electronic documents that have the potential to harm other parties, as stipulated in Article 35 of the ITE Law in conjunction with Law no. 19 of 2016. Violation of consumer rights, including rights to correct information, compensation, and fair treatment, as regulated in Law no. 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection," he said.

Strictly speaking, CWIG has given 3 working days since the summons was sent so that PT. BEST provides official clarification and completes the rights of members in a transparent and accountable manner.

"We act based on verified reports. Our goal is to ensure that people's rights as consumers remain protected and not be harmed by an opaque system," said Henry.

This subpoena, Henry continued, is a preventive legal step and is part of CWIG's commitment to carrying out public surveillance functions in a professional and legitimate manner.

Meanwhile, if it is proven that there is a criminal act, CWIG will report it to the National Police Headquarters for alleged violations of the ITE Law and the Consumer Protection Law.
