JAKARTA - Kia officially introduced Syros EV for the Indian market as an affordable electric car option. This model is Kia's second electric vehicle that is produced locally in India and is aimed at consumers who are switching to electric vehicles for the first time or the entry level segment.

Launching from Gaadiwaadi, Saturday, July 25, the Kia Syros EV is marketed at a price starting from 1.3 million rupees or around Rp. 250 million to 1.9 million rupees or around Rp. 370 million. Delivery of units to consumers is scheduled to begin on July 30, 2026.

Kia offers the Syros EV in two battery capacity options, namely 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh. The 42 kWh battery variant is claimed to be able to travel up to 443 km, while the 51.4 kWh version has a range of up to 526 km based on ARAI MIDC testing.

Kia also offers a buyback program with a resale value of up to 80 percent after three years of use, as well as a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme that makes the initial price of the vehicle more affordable.

Entering the cabin, the Kia Syros EV is equipped with a 30-inch panoramic screen consisting of two 12.3-inch panels and one 5-inch AC screen. Other features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, over-the-air (OTA) software updates, Harman Kardon audio system with eight speakers, wireless charger, ventilated front and rear seats, panoramic sunroof, ambient light with 64 color options, up to 16-liter front or frunk trunk.

Kia also equips the Syros EV with regenerative braking technology through i-Pedal, Vehicle to Load (V2L), Virtual Engine Sound System, and Shift by Wire transmission lever. In terms of safety, this electric car is equipped with ADAS Level 2 with 16 driving assistance features.

In addition, there are six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Start Assist, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), ISOFIX, Rear Occupant Alert, Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold, 360-degree camera, Blind View Monitor, and parking sensors in the front, side, and back.
