PKS's Turn To Criticize Bobby Nasution, Highlight The Poor Realization Of Medan City Parking Revenue

MEDAN - The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) faction of the Medan City DPRD, North Sumatra, highlighted the poor realization of Local Own-Source Revenue (PAD), especially from the parking retribution sector during the 2020 fiscal year.

"In 2019, Rp26.56 billion was realized, why in 2020 it fell so much?," said the spokesman for the PKS Faction of the Medan City DPRD, Syaiful Ramadhan when conveying the general view of the faction at a plenary meeting at the Medan City DPRD building, as quoted by Antara, Monday, June 15.

In a plenary meeting related to the Ranperda on the Field of Accountability for the Implementation of the 2020 APBD, he explained, the realization of the parking tax was recorded at Rp14.11 billion or 82.15 percent of the target of Rp17.18 billion.

Likewise, the realization of revenue from public roadside parking fees only contributed to PAD of Rp12.98 billion or 58.72 percent of the target of Rp22.10 billion.

"There was a decline in revenue of nine billion rupiah from 2019 to Rp21.99 billion. Even though we both know that the number of vehicles continues to grow in the city of Medan," he said.

The PKS politician also considers that the Medan City Transportation Service does not have a database, including road sections parking is collected and the estimated amount of revenue received from one parking area.

"For this reason, the PKS faction has requested that the Transportation Office increase e-parking, as is the case in Kesawan. So that leakage from this post can be minimized," said Syaiful.
