COVID-19 Update As Of June 8: 6.294 New Cases , Recovered Cases Increase By 5.805

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 101.931 specimens were examined with the result that there were 6.294 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1.869.325 people and 99.963 active cases", said Ministry of Health data, Tuesday, June 8.

Today's recovered cases increased by 5.805 cases, bringing the total to 1.717.370 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 189 people and a total of 51.992 people.

The province with the newest cases was in Central Java with 1.489 cases and a total of 208.172 cases. Followed by West Java which has 1.073 new cases with a total of 322.624 cases. DKI Jakarta has 755 new cases and a total of 437.087 cases. Then, East Java had 389 new cases and a total of 157.016 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Java with an additional 996 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 948 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 684 recovered cases, and Riau with an additional 638 recovered cases.

There are two provinces that reported no new cases today. Provinces that reported zero new cases were Gorontalo and Maluku.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 17.401.548.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 16.20 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 94.682 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Currently, 18.260.482 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 11.356.025 the second dose of vaccination. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40.349.049 people.
