JAKARTA - The Director of Special Crimes (Dirkrimsus) of the Aceh Police, Grand Commissioner Margiyanta, has been removed from his position. The removal was called for committing a fatal error.

Public Information Bureau Head, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, said his removal from office was a consequence of everything he had done.

"For members who make mistakes in carrying out their duties, of course, they must be held accountable for these mistakes," Rusdi told reporters, Thursday, June 3.

Rusdi emphasized that the removal of positions for members who made mistakes was a form of Polri's commitment to continue to be better. In addition, the sanctions will be applied to all members of the Police.

"Whoever it is from the lowest level to the highest level of course the responsibility for what is carried out must be accountable to anyone," said Rusdi.

The dismissal of Grand Commissioner Margiyanta based on the telegram letter of the Chief of Police numbered ST/1129/VI/KEP/202. In the letter, he was transferred as Intermediate Officer (Pamen) of the Police Headquarters Service (Yanma).

In fact, it is also written that Grand Commissioner Margiyanta has transferred positions for the purpose of examination.

Regarding the mistake made by Grand Commissioner Margiyanta, Rusdi did not want to go into details. It can only be said that the Propam (Profession and Security) Division is still investigating the matter.

"Later we will investigate from Propam because everything is still in the process. We are still seeing all these mistakes," he said.

Separately, the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division, Grand Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan, said that the mistake made by Grand Commissioner Margiyanta was about the abuse of authority.

"It is suspected that there is a problem of abuse of authority," said Ramadhan.

In addition, Ramadhan also mentioned that Grand Commissioner Margiyanta's actions were known after reports from the public. So, the National Police Propam intervened to investigate it.

"There is a report received by Propam, of course, it will be investigated. So this case is still under investigation. So the person concerned will be examined first by Propam," he said.

However, it is emphasized that so far the allegations of abuse of authority have not been proven. For this reason, investigations continue to be carried out to find out the truth.

"Later, after the examination is carried out, it will be found out whether he is proven to have committed a violation or not," said Ramadhan.
