PDIP Withdraws Support Due To Anger At Risma's Subordinates, Alor Regent: I Really Regret It

JAKARTA - The Regent of Alor, East Nusa Tenggara, Amon Djobo stated that the revocation of PDI-P support for him was the right of the party bearing the white muzzle symbol.

"That's fine, that's the right of the PDIP, but I really regret that," said Amon Djobo as quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 3.

This was conveyed in relation to the revocation of support from the PDI-P for him after a viral video rebuked the Ministry of Social Affairs staff regarding the distribution of aid for victims of natural disasters in the district.

Amon regrets that the togetherness between himself and the PDI-P, which has been well established for a long time, had to be stopped

The Alor Regent did not expect that the PDI-P would be affected by the video footage that was actually uploaded, not in its entirety, only taking when he scolded the Ministry of Social staff.

He admitted that in the viral video he never mentioned the PDI-P at all.

"So my anger is because of the management of the distribution of social assistance to victims of the Seroja disaster by the Ministry of Social Affairs," he said.

He admitted that in fact the case of scolding the staff of the Ministry of Social Affairs and mentioning that the Minister of Social Affairs had occurred since last April, even he had directly apologized to the Minister of Social Affairs when he was in Alor some time ago.

Regarding the letter of revocation of support, Amon admitted that he had not received an official notification letter from the PDI-P DPP regarding the revocation of their recommendation or support for the two-term regent.

Even though the support was revoked, he said, currently there are still 14 Alor DPRD seats that still support his position as regional head. Meanwhile, the Alor PDI-P has only four seats in the Alor DPRD.

Previously, members of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the NTT 1 electoral district, Flores Lembata, and Alor, Andreas Hugo Parera, stated that the PDI-P DPP revoked its recommendation and support for the Regent of Alor, East Nusa Tenggara, Amon Djobo, after the viral video of the concerned scolded the subordinates of the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini.

"The letter of revocation of support was made because the PDI-P DPP in November 2017 had issued a recommendation of support for Amon Djobo to run in the 2018 Alor Pilkada," he said.

Through this letter of revocation of support, the DPP instructed the Alor PDI-P DPC to coordinate with all ranks of the PDI-P faction in the local DPRD to take a stand against the regent in the process of administering the government in Alor Regency.
