Anies Has Capital To Advance For The 2024 Presidential Election, But Must Be Supported By A Solid Team

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is predicted to be a strong candidate for the 2024 presidential candidate. Jakarta observer Maman Firmansyah said Anies did have the capital to run in the 2024 presidential election.

Regarding the potential for political party support, Maman said that the PDI-P as the winning party in the 2019 General Election would not be in a hurry to make choices, such as pairing Anies with Puan Maharani.

"Anies has received many awards not only from the regions but also from the international level regarding the arrangement of the capital and all that. I think the capital (Anies will run for the 2024 presidential election) must be a lot, of course. Including if it is not supported by a solid and capable team, it will not mean anything -what," he said in a virtual discussion, Tuesday, June 1.

According to Maman, Anies' performance as Governor of DKI Jakarta in three years was quite successful. For example, overcoming the problem of flooding. He assessed that flooding can be minimized. Including in terms of congestion in the capital, Anies is considered successful in reducing congestion with his breakthroughs.

According to Maman, the arrival of other leaders or governors to Jakarta to visit the Jakarta City Hall is proof that Anies is highly valued in government management in Jakarta.

"So, they need to imitate. That is also one of the values that deserves attention. Although it is not the only one," he said.

Therefore, Maman said, if Anies wants to run in the 2024 presidential election, he must start to open a network with all provinces in the country, in the last two years of his leadership in DKI Jakarta.

"After all (Anies) in the last two (last) years, he has to open his network, and I hope that if he is elected by the community, don't be easily trapped by the previous offers, which then in the last two years have even weakened public support or public sympathy," he said.
