Dinsos Provides Food and Logistics Assistance for 13,000 Households Affected by Flooding in Tangerang Regency

JAKARTA - The Tangerang Regency Social Service (Dinsos), Banten Province distributed food and logistics assistance for 13,000 families (KK) in areas affected by natural disasters in 20 sub-districts.

Head of Disaster Management at the Tangerang Regency Dinsos, Sugih Suryagalih in Tangerang, Sunday, February 1, said that the distribution of assistance was carried out after the assessment team was deployed to the flood-affected area with 13,000 households.

"From January 2 to 30, 2026, we have provided logistical assistance to approximately 13,000 households in 20 flood-affected sub-districts throughout Tangerang Regency," he said, quoted by Antara.

He revealed that the assistance distributed by this disaster management team consisted of food logistics needs, such as rice, sardines, instant noodles, biscuits, and cooking oil. Where, this food assistance was directly given to the refugee post to the unit of residents affected by the flood.

Apart from food assistance, the Tangerang Regency Government also distributed evacuation post equipment, such as tents, folding mattresses, blankets, tarpaulins, and baby and elderly diapers.

"In fact, we have public kitchens in several districts, such as Jayanti, Kosambi, Kresek and Pasar Kemis," he said.

According to him, meeting the needs for food and clothing logistics is the main priority during the emergency, before other supporting assistance is distributed by the government as a handling.

In addition, currently his party is still waiting for the results of the follow-up assessment to add and determine the form and amount of the next assistance to be distributed to the victims.

"For the time being, we have distributed 1,970 bags of rice, 1,637 cans of sardines, 1,786 packs of biscuits, and 536 packs of instant noodles to the victims of this disaster," he said.

Sugih said that the request for hygiene and clean water in this case is still being processed and coordinated with the relevant regional devices.

However, he continued, the Tangerang Regency Social Service will continue to provide support for logistics services so that residents affected by the flood will still have access to decent food.

He conveyed the role of the Ministry of Social Affairs in handling the flood, which was to support the performance of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Tangerang Regency as the main leading sector.

Previously, the Regent of Tangerang Moch Maesyal Rasyid revealed that there were 27 sub-districts in the area that were affected, including hitting agricultural land and causing 33 families (KK) with 133 thousand people to be victims of flooding.

"Of the 29 sub-districts, 27 sub-districts were affected by the disaster with 33 thousand households or about 133 thousand people affected by the flood," he said.

Since the flood disaster that hit on January 11-27, 2026, it hit 27 sub-districts with hundreds of villages/villages.

According to him, this natural disaster is the result of heavy and intense rain as well as several rivers and lakes overflowing.

However, for the latest update from the dozens of affected sub-districts, it has gradually receded. However, the flood water left some areas still submerged with water discharge heights reaching 30 to 80 centimeters.

"Currently, the flooded areas are mostly overflowing, overflowing from the Cidurian River, Cirarab River, and also Situ Gelam. That is indeed the cause of the high rainfall, and the water in the river is no longer able to accommodate it to overflow," he said.

With this condition, the Tangerang Regency Government (Pemkab) is now continuing to work on handling through post-disaster recovery by all related local government organizations (OPD).

"The local government's efforts deploy all related OPDs. Since yesterday, they have continued to handle floods, both for victims and for handling flood sources," he said.
