Megawati Will Summon Social Minister Risma, What Are They Going To Discuss?

JAKARTA - PDIP Party General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri plans to summon Social Minister Tri Rismaharini.

This meeting, she said, will discuss the issue of stunting or malnutrition that is still experienced by children in the country until now.

"Come on, the strong Risma. Anyway, come later, meet me. I want to meet you", said Megawati in her remarks at the inauguration of 25 new PDIP Party offices that were broadcast on PDI Perjuangan YouTube channel, Sunday, May 30.

The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia then gave an example of the problem of stunting or malnutrition experienced by children. One of them is in the Cempaka Putih area, where many families live in beds or temporary houses.

On land with an area of less than 500 square meters, said Mega, many children live with their families. She said that most of the people who live there are not native Jakarta residents.

"Imagine in Central Jakarta, in Cempaka Putih, there is a land maybe not more than 500 meters. Lives a family in beds. Listen to that, I'll show you the place. Try to imagine, Risma, what do they do for a living? Selling food on the cart but there are three children on it. When they were asked about their lives, they're not even from here", she said.

According to her, this problem is also related to the issue of urbanization or the movement of rural people to cities in search of a living. For her, it is necessary to find reasons so that people feel that they cannot support themselves if they remain in the village.

"I mean the problem of urbanization is really true, huh? Until I talked to Mr. Jokowi. How are they going to survive in?", she said.

But for Megawati, the fastest response that can be done is if Indonesian women think about or try to imagine the future of the children who live in such a place.

"What is the future for these children? From nutrition that does not meet the requirements, how about from the education side?", he continued.

That's why she invites Indonesian women to think about this problem, at least from their own immediate environment. "Didn't mothers talk to their husbands about it?", she said.
