Hopefully the Jakarta PPDB Pathway is Based on Neighborhood Associations, Will Not Make a Confusion

JAKARTA - The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta opened four acceptance of New Student Admissions (PPDB) pathways, namely achievement pathways, affirmations, zoning, and transfer of duties of parents and children of teachers.

Zoning pathways get the most quota in the registration of prospective students. This year, the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta conducted a zoning determination by looking at the boundaries of the RT/RW (Neighborhood Associations) administration area and the village where students and schools live to determine the priority of admission of prospective students.

Head of Examination Ombudsman Jakarta Raya, Rully Amrulloh, sees that rt-based zoning system is appropriately used to avoid potential riots. Because, previously zoning was done based on coordinate points on the map.

"In areas that are often not as dense as Jakarta, every year we receive many reports from parents of students who convey inaccuracies in determining coordinate points", Rully said in his statement, Tuesday, May 25.

When the coordinate points are inaccurate, a joint coordinate point calculation will be performed between the parent and the operator. This, said Rully, actually opens the potential of kongkalikong between parents and operators so that the position of their residential coordinates become closer.

"Based on the studies that have been conducted by DKI Jakarta Education Agency taking into account the density of population and distribution of education units in Jakarta, the RT/RW-based Zoning system is the most appropriate Zoning system to avoid potential unrest", he said.

Meanwhile, related to the determination of older age as an indicator of assessment when prospective students exceed the capacity, Rully assessed it in accordance with Permendikbud No. 1 year 2021.

In Article 31 paragraph 2, age is used as a filter criteria if the occupancy distance of prospective students is the same and this relates to the capacity of the school in question.
