US National Holiday Celebrates Thanksgiving Today, A Number Of Public Services Closed

JAKARTA - Citizens of the United States (US) celebrate Thanksgiving which falls today, Thursday 27 November.

As Thanksgiving was designated as a national or federal holiday, a number of public services in the US also closed themselves.

Citing USA Today, post office services close on Thanksgiving. The US Postal Service website says the postal office is off and the letter will not be sent today.

The new letter will be sent on Friday, November 28, when the post office reopens for retail transactions.

Delivery services such as FedEx and UPS are also not operating, as well as closed stock market transactions.

Meanwhile, banking operations in a number of banks in the US are also closed to commemorate Thanksgiving. The closed ones are Bank of America, Truist, PNC, Capital One, Wells Fargo, Citibank, JPMorgan Chase.

Services for US post offices and new bank offices will reopen during normal operating hours on Black Friday which falls on Friday 28 November.

However, not all services in the US choose to close operations on Thanksgiving, several supermarkets, restaurants, and retail businesses remain open today.
