Man Found Dead Not Far From PLN Cable, Police Call Alleged Theft

JAKARTA - A man was found dead under a bridge, Jalan Lake Utara, RT 02/10, Sunter Agung Village, Tanjung Priok District, North Jakarta. The police said that the victim with the initials O died after being electrocuted by PLN cables that wanted to be stolen.

This allegation is reinforced by the presence of evidence at the scene such as crowbars, hammers, PLN cables that have been peeling and machetes.

"It is suspected that he died from an electric shock because he tried to cut to retrieve the PLN cable network under the bridge," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjung Priok Police, AKP Handam Samudro when confirmed, Monday, November 24.

The discovery of the man who was electrocuted began with a public report. After receiving the report, the Tanjung Priok Police checked the crime scene.

After confirming the truth of the information, the Criminal Investigation Unit coordinated with the North Jakarta Metro Police Identification team to conduct TKP investigations.

"Because the bottom position of the bridge contained a PLN power cable network, the team contacted PLN and Damkar for assistance in checking electricity," he said.

Furthermore, the victim's body was evacuated from under the bridge for a post-mortem at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta.

"There were no signs of violence on the victim's body. Beside the victim, there was evidence of a knife or machete, hammer or hammer, crowbar, sandals and jeans," he said.
