Commander Of The Military Resort Asks Two SS2 Assault Rifles Belonging To TNI Soldiers Who Were Killed In Papua To Be Returned

JAKARTA - Commander of the Military Resort 172/PWY Brigadier General Izak Pangemanan requested that two firearms belonging to soldiers taken by unknown persons (OTK) be returned.

Izak suspects that two firearms belonging to the 432 Kostrad Infantry Battalion personnel who died due to the abuse were taken. This is because the two firearms were not found.

He said that his party had asked for help from the local government, churches, and community leaders in Yahukimo so that the two firearms and ammunition taken by the OTK were returned.

"Hopefully the various efforts that have been made can produce results and the captured weapons and ammunition are returned before they are misused", said Brigadier General Izak Pangemanan, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, May 19.

The firearms belonging to the victims that were taken away were the SS2 type (assault rifle) along with the building.

On this occasion he said, the bodies of two TNI soldiers who were killed by an unknown person (OTK) were evacuated from Dekai, the capital of Yahukimo Regency to Sentani.

The bodies of the two TNI personnel, upon arrival at Sentani Airport, were immediately flown to their hometowns for burial.

Izak Pangemanan said that Praka Alif's body would be taken to Flores while Prada Yudi Ardiyanto would go to Ambon.

The two TNI personnel were killed as a result of being attacked by unknown persons while carrying out the construction of embankments in Braga River, Dekai.

Izak said, suddenly around 20 people attacked with various types of sharp weapons until both of them died from their wounds.

"It has not been confirmed which group carried out the attack and tortured the two TNI personnel", said Brig. Gen. Pangemanan.
