Wamen PPN Wants Representatives Of The Republic Of Indonesia To Be Involved In National Development Planning

Deputy Minister of National Development Planning (PPN)/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) Ambassador Febrian Alphyanto Ruddyard wants representatives of the Republic of Indonesia abroad to be involved in national development planning.

Speaking at the "Debriefing Forum of the Head of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, Multilateral Diploam: Efforts to Improve Indonesian Leadership at the Global Level", Ambassador Febrian Bappenas has the task of planning long-term development for 25 years and medium-term 5 years, in which in the process there is a consultation called Development Planning Conference (Musrenbang).

"I see that there are misses, there are no overseas Musrenbangs. This means that friends in the Representatives and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have not been included in the existing development planning process," he said in a forum held by the Foreign Policy Strategy Agency (BSKLN), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta, Monday, October 13.

Departing from that, Ambassador Febrian made a concept that had been conveyed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for joint discussion, how the head of representative could provide input, "so that during the medium-term development plan it is reflected in development planning, especially for overseas."

"Because we realize now that the current representative is outside the orbit of the development plan, is only implementing it, but does not provide input," he continued.

"So this is what we want to develop. So later maybe a deeper discussion can be carried out at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Bappenas, so that we can provide channels for input from heads of representatives abroad to be part of a national development planning mechanism," he said.

Ambassador Febrian added that this is an unfinished concept, "so that later everything can be in a planning continuation, nothing is left behind."
