Investigate Internet Bandwidth Corruption And DRC Rental, DIY Prosecutor's Office Searches The House Of Ex-Kadis Kominfo Sleman

The investigation team of the Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) searched the house of the former Head of the Sleman Regency Communication and Information Office, the initials ESPN, Friday, September 26.

Head of Legal Information Section of the Yogyakarta Attorney General's Office, Herwatan, said that the search at ESPN's house on Jl. Turi I No. 7 Karangasem Gempol, Condongcatur, Depok, Sleman, DIY took place from 09.30 WIB to 11.30 WIB.

"This search was carried out to complete the investigation file on the alleged corruption in the procurement of internet bandwidth and the rental of the DRC collaboration [disaster recovery center]," he said in Yogyakarta, Friday, confiscated by Antara.

Previously, the DIY Prosecutor's Office had named ESPN as a suspect in the alleged corruption on Thursday, September 25 and was immediately detained at the Yogyakarta Class IIA Penitentiary for 20 days from the date of determination.

Herwatan said that prior to the search, the investigative team coordinated with the Head of the RT and the Kalurahan Condongcatur government.

At the location, the team met the suspect's wife and conveyed the intent and showed the Investigation Order, Search Order, and Determination of the Search Permit.

Furthermore, investigators conducted searches in the garage, bedroom, and other rooms that were suspected of having evidence related to the case.

"From the search, investigators found and confiscated evidence in the form of a Toyota Innova car and six watches of various brands," explained Herwatan.

In this case, ESPN as the Head of the Sleman Diskominfo at that time was known to have added to the internet bandwidth subscription via the Internet Service Provider (ISP)-3 (PT MSD) from November 2022 to 2024 without going through a study.

Even though the bandwidth needs have been met from two previous providers, namely ISP-1 (PT SIMS) and ISP-2 (PT GPU).

The budget value paid for ISP-3 reached IDR 3.9 billion.

In addition, Diskominfo Sleman in 2023 to 2025 also leased DRC colocation with a budget of IDR 198 million per year through direct procurement with PT MSA providers.

Of the two projects, ESPN allegedly asked the Director of PT MSD and PT MSA for a total of Rp901 million.

ESPN's actions, said Herwatan, have resulted in state financial losses of around Rp. 3 billion.

The suspect is suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1), 3 or 12 letter e in conjunction with Article 18 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001.
