Police Name 118 Suspects From 2,263 People Arrested During Ricuh Demonstration In Central Java

Central Java Regional Police named 118 people as suspects in an anarchist demonstration in the Central Java region at the end of August 2025.

Central Java Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Pol. Latif Usman said there were 2,263 people who were arrested during the action in various regions in Central Java Province which ended in chaos.

Of these, he continued, 1,391 of them were still children or minors.

"Of that number, 118 people were prosecuted and named as suspects consisting of 62 adults and 56 children," he said in Semarang, Friday, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said 72 suspects had been detained, while 46 other suspects had not been arrested.

He said the handling of the riot was carried out by the Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police and 15 Polres ranks.

The Deputy Chief of Police emphasized that the suspects who were prosecuted were rioters.

"What is being secured is the rioters, not the protesters," he added.

He also expressed his concern over the perpetrators of the riots, some of whom were minors.

Previously, demonstrations in front of the Central Java Police Headquarters in Semarang on August 29 and 30, 2025 ended in chaos.
