Update On COVID-19 As Of April 24: 1,002 People Are Healed, Most Of Them Are In DKI Jakarta

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for handling COVID-19 Achmad Yurianto (Yuri) said, as many as 1,002 positive patients with the corona virus or COVID-19 were declared cured. DKI Jakarta is the region with the highest number of recovery, amounting to 327 people.

"From these results, 8,211 people were confirmed positive for COVID-19. Meanwhile, 1,002 COVID-19 patients have recovered and 686 COVID-19 patients have died," Yurianto said in a press conference broadcast via BNPB's official YouTube account, Friday, April 24th.

Although all provinces in Indonesia have been affected by COVID-19, DKI Jakarta has recorded the highest number of patient cures compared to other regions, amounting to 327 patients.

Furthermore, in East Java there were 128 patients who were declared cured, West Java 90 people, South Sulawesi 81 people, and Central Java 58 patients who had been declared cured.

In addition, Yuri also explained, the number of People Under Supervision (ODP) has now reached 197,951 people and most of them are declared healthy and have finished their monitoring. Meanwhile, patients under surveillance (PDP) who are waiting for the results of the Real Time PCR test now total 18,301 people.

Yurianto also asked the public, especially those who have just traveled from areas that are the epicenter of the spread of COVID-19, both at home and abroad, to carry out independent isolation.

"Even though there are no complaints of any kind of illness or complaints of minor illness such as a mild cough, the fever is not too high, you still have to be aware of yourself (do self-isolation). Because this has the potential to carry this virus," he said.

Furthermore, he said, the government is currently continuing to carry out measures to find the source of transmission of this virus. The first way is to monitor people who have just traveled to the epicenter or center of the spread of the virus, both at home and abroad. Second, by carrying out tracing contact or contact tracing of positive COVID-19 patients who are being treated in hospitals or carrying out independent care at home.
