"For the next two days, teaching and learning activities at schools will be transferred to online learning," said Jayapura Mayor Abisaiapura in Jayapura, Monday, as reported by Antara.

"The policy will take effect today and tomorrow to ensure the safety of the students," he said.

He explained that the safety and comfort of students is the main priority of local governments so that his party asks parents to be more vigilant and ensure that children continue to follow the learning process from home.

"We hope that in the future there will be no more demonstrations in Papua, especially Jayapura City," he said.

He added that while office activities within the Jayapura City Government were still running to ensure public services were not disrupted and could still be accessed by the public.

"After the situation is safe, all students return to school to follow the learning process like," he said.
