Pramono Opens Discourse On Giving LPDP-like Scholarships For Jakarta Students Lectured Abroad

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that the DKI Provincial Government's discourse would distribute scholarships similar to the LPDP program of the Ministry of Finance to Jakarta students who want to study abroad.

Later, this overseas tuition scholarship will be financed from the regional revenue and expenditure budget (APBD) included in the Jakarta Superior Student Card (KJMU) education assistance scheme.

"Maybe it's time for us to think about whether the 100 or 200 selected Jakarta students we gave LPDP, but came from the Jakarta Superior Student Card," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, August 27.

However, Pramono emphasized that the distribution of this scholarship requires approval from the DKI Jakarta DPRD. This includes the expansion of the reach of KJMU distribution for undergraduate students to doctoral degrees.

"What is the basis for the rental we can strengthen, including for the Superior Student Jakarta Card, we also ask for approval later from our DKI Jakarta DPRD friends, if it was only for S1, we will develop it for S1, S2, S3," he explained.

Pramono assessed that one of the main problems in Jakarta that still occurs is the phenomenon of inequality or disparity between the rich and the poor.

Therefore, the DKI Provincial Government is trying to reduce the number of inequality by distributing various types of social assistance. In the 2025 APBD, the DKI Provincial Government has disbursed IDR 4.53 trillion for social assistance programs.

"In Jakarta, we have issued what is called the Jakarta Children's Card, Jakarta Elderly Card, Jakarta Diasbability Card, Smart Jakarta Card, Superior Jakarta Student Card, and Subsidized Food Program," said Pramono.

"This is the main layer, why in Jakarta now the relative problems in the lowest community can have strong bearings and become the main pillow for existing economic growth," he added.
