The Chairman Of PA 212 Says Unrest In Society Arises Because Of Hoax, Not Rizieq Shihab

JAKARTA - The Chairman of Persaudaraan Alumni (PA) 212 Slamet Ma'arif said the circulating hoax news about Rizieq Shihab's condition became the cause of the emergence of unrest in the community. Hoaks at that time said Rizieq was reportedly dying to death.

Slamet Ma'arif's statement was delivered when Rizieq Shihab asked questions about the fake news. He asked Slamet and Muhammad Mahdi to explain what caused the unrest.

"You both advise clarifying so as not to fret. So what makes it so restless that there is a hoax news spread or clarification Habib to fret?", asked Rizieq in a hearing at the East Jakarta District Court, Tuesday, May 11.

Slamet replied that causing unrest was not a clarification from Rizieq Shihab. The cause of the unrest is the hoax news that is circulating.

"That makes the restless is a hoax", said Slamet.

While Muhammad Mahdi claimed to have received news Rizieq in critical condition until his death. It was the news that caused the unrest.

"I got word Habib Rizieq was in a critical condition. I even got word there was one video and it's passed away. Youtube account says", Mahdi said.

From the news, Mahdi also tried to find the truth. He asked Hanif Alatas as Rizieq Shihab's son-in-law.

Until finally, the false news was indisputable. Rizieq Shihab was called in good health despite undergoing treatment at UMMI Hospital.

"Alhamdulillah the scholars, the Habibs calm down", said Mahdi.

In this case, Rizieq Shihab was charged with spreading false news or hoaxes that caused trouble. This false news related to his health condition was confirmed positive COVID-19 while in UMMI Hospital Bogor, West Java.

Rizieq Shihab was charged with Article 14 paragraph (1), paragraph (2), Article 15 of Law No. 1 of 1946 concerning The Regulation of Criminal Law and/or Article 14 paragraph (1), paragraph (2) of Law No. 4 of 1984 concerning Infectious Disease Outbreaks and/or Article 216 of the Criminal Code jo Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
