Protect Prosecutors, TNI Ready To Guard To OTT Level

Head of the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) Wahyudi said that the involvement of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) in securing the prosecutor's office includes various forms of activity, including hand arrest operations (OTT).

"Yes, including that (OTT), escorting prisoners, yes all of them. So, whatever it is, if it really needs security," Wahyudi said in Mataram, Antara, Thursday, July 31.

Regarding the number of TNI personnel to be deployed, Wahyudi said that this would be adjusted to the needs in the field. "Later on, the practice will be mapped what kind of needs it will be," he said.

Wahyudi said that his party would still coordinate further with the TNI, in this case the Military Resort Command (Korem) 162/Wira Bhakti, in order to detail the technical implementation.

Previously, on Monday, July 28, the NTB Prosecutor's Office together with its staff participated in the joint troop deployment between the Prosecutor's Office and the TNI from Kodam IX/Udayana at the Bali Prosecutor's Office. This activity is part of the TNI's readiness to secure the prosecutor's office in the Bali, NTB, and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) areas.

In the apple, a security cooperation agreement was also signed between the Prosecutor's Office and the TNI represented by Pangdam IX/Udayana, Major General TNI Piek Budyakto.

Kajati Bali I Ketut Sumadana in his mandate said that the cooperation was a concrete form of institutional synergy in strengthening law enforcement in the regions.

He called this collaboration a form of implementation of Presidential Regulation Number 15 of 2021 concerning amendments to Presidential Decree 38 of 2010 concerning the organization and work procedures of the Prosecutor's Office, which was strengthened by the Attorney General's Regulation Number PER-006/A/JA/07/2017 concerning the position of Attorney General for Military Crimes.

Meanwhile, Pangdam IX/Udayana stated that the TNI's support for the Prosecutor's Office was limited, in accordance with the legal corridor, and mainly includes securing vital objects, prosecutor's personnel, and joint operations if needed.

"This cooperation is not just a formal ceremony, but a concrete implementation of the spirit of collaboration between the Indonesian Attorney General's Office and the TNI," said the Pangdam.

Adapun kerja sama tersebut mengacu pada Nota Kesepahaman Nomor 4 Tahun 2003 dan Nomor NK/6/IV/2023/TNI tanggal 6 April 2023, serta menjadi bagian dari pelaksanaan Peraturan Presiden Nomor 66 Tahun 2025 tentang Perlindungan Negara terhadap Jaksa dalam Menjalankan Tugas dan Fungsinya.

The cooperation refers to the Memorandum of Understanding Number 4 of 2003 and Number NK/6/IV/2023/TNI dated April 6, 2023, and is part of the implementation of Presidential Regulation Number 66 of 2025 concerning the Protection of State Prosecutors in Carrying Out Their Duties and Functions.
