Tapin - Tapin Regency Government, South Kalimantan, resolved the dispute over land ownership of public transport terminals in Rantau through civil law with the results of a peace agreement between the two parties.
This dispute has surfaced since 2021, when the heirs of the land owners sued the local government for the use of land without compensation.
The Rantau District Court ruled that the Tapin Regency Government is obliged to provide compensation worth Rp457 million for the use of the land.
"Alhamdulillah, this problem was resolved with the principles of agreement, justice, and togetherness," said Deputy Regent of Tapin H. Juanda after the process of handing over compensation at the Rantau District Court, Antara, Thursday, July 31.
Juanda said this settlement is an important lesson so that in the future development planning will be carried out more carefully, especially regarding the legality of land for public facilities.
"Furthermore, we will immediately tidy up the administration of terminal land assets so that they are included in the official list of regional assets," he said.
As part of the settlement, the Certificate of Ownership Number 166 of 1985 has been submitted to the Tapin Regency Government. The certificate will be processed as the right to use the government in accordance with applicable legal provisions.
The chairman of the Rantau District Court, Achmad Iyud Nugraha, welcomed this peaceful settlement. He considered that the Tapin Regency Government's move was a tangible form of respect for the legal process.
