The Sad News Comes From East Manggarai: 164 Residents Have Food Poisoning, 1 Of Whom Has Died

JAKARTA - As many as 164 residents in East Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara experienced food poisoning which caused one person to die.

As reported by Antara, Tuesday, May 5, Head of the Protocol and Communication Section of the Regional Secretariat for East Manggarai Regency, Jefry Haryanteng said, the food poisoning incident occurred after attending a grief event at one of the residents 'houses in Pau Hamlet, Ngalak Leleng Village, Lamba Leda Selatan District, Flores Island.

According to him, the victims consumed food while attending a grief event at one of the residents' houses in Ngalak Leleng Village on Friday, April 30th.

Jefri Haryanto explained that 164 residents, including about 30 children, complained of abdominal pain and diarrhea.

According to him, 15 patients had been declared cured, while one person died due to dehydration.

"One person died today caused by lack of fluids before being rushed to the hospital", he said.

According to Jefri Haryanto, there are still 148 people who are currently undergoing medical treatment at the Mano Health Center and the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) dr. Ben Mboi in Ruteng, Manggarai Regency.

In addition, according to Jefri Haryanto, a number of patients chose to carry out independent care at home, so that medical officers came to residents' homes for treatment.

"The patient's condition has started to recover after being treated medically also patients who choose to be treated at home", said Jefri Haryanto.
