JAKARTA - Director-General of Population and Civil Registration Agency (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, on behalf of the Minister of Home Affairs officially handed over 53 death certificates for the crew of the KRI Nanggala-402 who died in their duties.
Director-General Zudan handed it over to Deputy Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy, Vice Admiral TNI Ahmadi Heri Purwono at National Navy (TNI AL) Headquarters, Cilangkap, Jakarta, Thursday.
In addition to the death certificate, population documents in the form of a Family Card (KK) and the latest Electronic Identity Card (KTP-el) are also submitted for the family left behind.
"On behalf of the Minister of Home Affairs, our deepest condolences for the death of the best sons of the nation of the crew of the KRI Nanggala-402 ship," said Zudan as quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 29.
He said he submitted population documents in the form of death certificates, family cards, and the latest one-door electronic KTP through the Indonesian Navy Headquarters so that they could be handed over to the families left by the victims.
"At the Population and Civil Registration Agency, if someone takes care of a death certificate for those who are married, 3 documents are submitted at once," said Director General Zudan.

According to Director General Zudan, the publication of this population document is done quickly, easily, and for free. The victim's family does not need to take care of it themselves, because it has been arranged by the Dukcapil of the city district according to the address of the victim's electronic ID card or family card.
"This can be done because all Dukcapil services are connected online. All population documents are digitally signed so they do not need to be legalized," he said.
Then, the document can be printed on plain white HVS paper with an electronic signature complete with a QR Code to check its authenticity.
Director-General Zudan added that the documents submitted were very much needed by the victim's family to take care of urgent needs such as insurance, or other urgent needs that could only be handled by including the victim's death certificate document.
On that occasion, Vice Admiral TNI Ahmadi Heri Purwono expressed his gratitude for the Dukcapil's quick response by issuing death certificates and other documents needed by the families of the victims.
"I would like to thank the ranks of the Ministry of Home Affairs who are very responsive. We will immediately hand over to the families of the victims," said Ahmadi Heri Purwono.
