The Kremlin Calls US Presidential Envoys To Tell Europe About The Developments Of War Dialogues In Ukraine

JAKARTA - The Kremlin on Thursday said the meeting between the United States, Ukraine and European countries in Paris, France was an opportunity for US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to inform them of the latest status of talks to realize the settlement of war peace in Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Presidents Vladimir Putin and Witkoff had long talks last week.

"The United States continues to work in this direction with the European and Ukrainian sides," Peskov said.

"Unfortunately, from the European side we saw a focus on continuing the war," he continued.

Top Ukrainian officials flew Thursday for a visit that was previously not announced to Paris, where European officials gathered to file the Kyiv case to US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, and President Donald Trump's envoy Witkoff.

High-level diplomacy reflects Europe's growing concern over the US Government's approach to Moscow, following the failure of President Trump's efforts so far to regulate a ceasefire in the three-year Russian-Ukraine war.

It is known that President Putin held the last meeting of several meetings with Witkoff in his hometown of St. Petersburg last Friday. Russian state media said talks lasted for more than four hours.

President Trump himself has repeatedly said he wants to end the "blood spill", but has not yet reached a breakthrough. Moscow said it was not easy to approve a settlement.
