Criticized, DKI Provincial Government Removes Gowes Bareng Pramono Route To Cross JLNT Casablanca

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that his party has changed the bicycle route with the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, which will be held on Saturday, April 19.

This route change was made after criticism from the cyclist community regarding the use of the Casablanca Nontol Flyover (JLNT) as one of the Ride with Mas Pram Gathering routes because it was considered dangerous for cyclists.

"We see that there are still people who do not fully agree in special cyclists using JLNT because they think this road is only for 4-wheeled motorized vehicles, so we decided to adjust the SilaturahRide track to become a Sudirman loop," Syafrin told reporters, Thursday, April 17.

Syafrin continued, there will be a closure or diversion of traffic flow at the intersection that intersects with the route during the riding activity.

"Road users are advised to avoid these roads and be able to adjust the traffic arrangements set, obey traffic signs, instructions from officers in the field and prioritize road safety," explained Syafrin.

In addition, Transjakarta operations that intersect with the Gatheringride with Mas Pram route apply normally, when a platoon group passes at the Horse Statue Roundabout, the Hl Roundabout and the Senayan Roundabout are adjusted situationally by traffic control officers.

"For long-distance train users who will go to Gambir Station so that they can adjust their travel time," said Syafrin.

Previously, the Sustainable Mobility Coalition consisting of the Indonesian Bike To Work (B2W) cyclist community, the Pedestrian Coalition, the Road Safety Association, and the Committee for the Elimination of Pambal Gasoline criticized the traveling activities with Pramono this weekend.

President of B2W Indonesia, Hendro Subroto said that his party rejected the bicycle route that would cross the Casablanca Nontol Flyover (JLNT) at the event entitled GatheringRide with Mas Pram.

This was revealed in an event preparation meeting held by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency by inviting the cyclists community some time ago.

"Instead of discussing, we actually became spectators of the presentation of a mature and ready-to-eat concept. Moreover, what was presented shocked us, the cycling event will go through JLNT Casablanca Street, even two rounds," Hendro told reporters, Tuesday, April 15.

During the meeting, Hendro said that his party had conveyed the rejection of the use of JLNT as a riding route for the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency because the route was not intended for two-wheeled vehicles.

"This rejection is not without basis. The existing regulations have clearly prohibited bicycles from crossing JLNT, not because bicycles are not important, but because safety must take precedence," said Hendro.
