BOGOR - The Bogor City Government has prepared an odd-even implementation option for motorized vehicles in Bogor City at the weekend to reduce the increasing number of COVID-19 transmissions in the past week.

"Positive cases of COVID-19 in Bogor City in the past week have tended to increase. There has been an increase of up to 20 percent compared to the previous week," said Bogor Mayor Bima Arya after a coordination meeting with the Bogor City Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) in Bogor City, Monday, April 26th.

According to Bima Arya, Forkopimda agreed to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 in Bogor City by implementing the odd-even policy for motorized vehicles at weekends.

"The increase in positive cases of COVID-19 in the City of Bogor, which has reached 20 percent, must be taken seriously. Don't let your guard down and then there will be a surge in the second wave of positive cases of COVID-19," he said.

Based on COVID-19 data at the Bogor City Health Office, there were 38 cases of COVID-19 transmission in the City of Bogor on Friday (23/4), on Saturday (24/4) there were 58 cases, then on Sunday (25/4), there were 65 cases.

With this addition, the accumulated addition of positive cases in Bogor City in three days was 161 cases, while positive cases that were declared cured in the same period were only 84 cases.

According to Bima Arya, if in the next few days, the trend continues to increase, then the odd-even management will be enforced again on weekends.

Head of Bogor City Police, Grand Commissioner Susatyo Purnomo Condro, said he agreed with the plan of the Mayor of Bogor, Bima Arya.

"If in the next few days, positive cases of COVID-19 in Bogor City continue to increase, the odd-even application should be implemented," he said.

According to Susatyo, the decision to implement odd-even rests with the mayor as the head of the Bogor City COVID-19 Handling Task Force.
