Regarding Tensions With PDIP, Jokowi: Who Started Who?

The 7th President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) responded to the statement by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, who asked that tensions between himself and the PDI-P be met. Jokowi emphasized that he was not the one who started the feud with the party bearing the bull symbol.

"Well, who started it?" said Jokowi at his residence, Jalan Kutai Utara Number 1, Sumber, Solo, Thursday, March 20.

Jokowi also emphasized that he never felt he had a problem with PDIP, the party that had raised its name.

"Wong kita enggak ada masalah," imbuhnya.

In line with Jokowi, the General Chair of Jokowi Volunteers (Rejo) for Prabowo-Gibran, Darmizal, also stated that his party was open if PDIP wanted to start reconciliation.

"We from the volunteer group welcome very well, even want to invite friends from PDIP. Let alone just coffee, let's eat or exercise together while discussing casually for the benefit of the community," said Darmizal after meeting Jokowi.

He also denied the tension between Jokowi and PDIP, stressing that political conflict would only harm all parties.

"The tension is detrimental. If there is an invitation to make peace, of course it is very good and we are ready to accept it," he said.

Furthermore, Darmizal invited all parties to focus more on building the nation rather than being trapped in unproductive internal conflicts.
