3 Defendants Demand 3 Years In Prison 3 Defendants Of Corruption Consumption Of Patients At The South Bengkulu Hospital

The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the South Bengkulu District Attorney (Kejari) has demanded three years in prison for three defendants in the corruption case of eating and drinking funds for Hasanuddin Damrah Manna Hospital, South Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province for the 2023 fiscal year.

"Based on this article, we charged the defendant with imprisonment and a fine, and one defendant was charged with compensation of Rp126 million," said South Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office, Andi Setiawan, in Bengkulu City, Wednesday, March 20, as reported by Antara.

The three defendants are the Director of HD Manna Hospital, Debi Purnomo, who was sentenced to one year and nine months in prison with a fine of Rp. 50 million, a subsidiary of three months and compensation of Rp. 126 million.

The defendant Yuniarti was sentenced to one year and six months in prison with a fine of Rp. 50 million, subsidiary to three months, while the defendant Vina Fitri Yani was also sentenced to one year and six months in prison with a fine of Rp. 50 million, subsidiary to three months.

Andi said the actions of the three defendants in the corruption case of eating and drinking funds at HD Manna Hospital, South Bengkulu Regency, had caused state losses of Rp330 million.

For this action, the South Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office charged the three defendants with the article on the subsidiary of the Corruption Eradication Law as stated in the Criminal Code.

The three were charged with violating Article 3 junto Article 18 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption junto Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.

Previously, the South Bengkulu Kejari in December 2024 had detained and named the three defendants as suspects in the corruption case of eating and drinking funds at the hospital. As a result of their actions, the state suffered a loss of Rp330 million from the total budget of Rp1.2 billion.

The loss is known based on the results of an audit that reveals a difference between spending and the realization reported.
