KPK Searches RK's House, Bahlil: Respect The Legal Process

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Golkar Party DPP Bahlil Lahadalia said that his party respects the legal process related to the search of the house of former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil (RK) by the KPK in investigating the alleged corruption case of advertising projects at PT Bank Pembangunan Daerah Jawa Barat and Banten (BJB).

"We leave it to the legal process, and we respect it all," said Bahlil as quoted by ANTARA.

The KPK searched RK's house which is also a politician from the Golkar Party on Monday (10/3). RK also confirmed that the search was related to the investigation of the alleged corruption case of BJB and was committed to being cooperative.

"We as good citizens are very cooperative and fully support and help the KPK team in a professional manner," said Ridwan Kamil in a statement received in Bandung, Monday (10/3).

From the search, KPK investigators confiscated a number of documents and items. KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto ensured that the documents and items confiscated by investigators had relevance to the case being investigated.

"Certainly, if it is confiscated, there must be some documents, some items, there is a process, investigators are currently investigating it," said Setyo at the KPK Anti-Corruption Education Center Building, Jakarta, Wednesday (12/3).

However, Setyo has not provided a more detailed explanation of what was confiscated by the KPK in the investigation. It was stated that confiscated goods were being investigated and investigated in relation to the BJB case.

On the other hand, the Daily Executive (Plh.) of the Director of Investigation of the KPK Budi Sokmo Wibowo said that his party had not yet determined any status of RK in the BJB case.

"What status is Mr. RK? If his status is up to now, he hasn't been in this case, because he hasn't been summoned as a witness yet," Budi said in his statement in Jakarta, Friday (14/3).

According to Budi, the KPK will immediately summon RK for questioning regarding the case.

However, he could not confirm when the summons for the person concerned would be scheduled.

"When will we be summoned? We will definitely call later because at the house in question, we carried out a search and we have confiscated some evidence, of course, we must clarify it to the person concerned," he said.
