Semarang Mayor Agustina Wilujeng: Regional Heads Are People's Servants

SemarANG - Semarang Mayor Agustina Wilujeng Pramestuti agreed that the regional head was a servant of the people, as ordered by President Prabowo Subianto.

"That's right. We realize that currently the positioning of public perceptions against the central, provincial and district/city governments is down. Therefore, his orders that we should position as public servants are very appropriate," said Agustinadilansir ANTARA, Thursday, February 20.

Agustina and Iswar Aminuddin were inaugurated as Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Semarang simultaneously together with other regional heads by the President in Jakarta, Thursday.

He said he was happy and conveyed that his inauguration along with hundreds of other regional heads went smoothly.

"It's fun, together, 400 of them (regional heads are inaugurated simultaneously, ed.)," he said after the inauguration.

Although during his inauguration with hundreds of other regional heads were asked to line up and walk hundreds of meters from the National Monument (Monas) to the State Palace, Agustina said he was still happy.

"We were asked to line up, yes, it was the atmosphere, we have released everything. Anyway, there is no more confusion, yes. This has been inaugurated together and the inauguration process is very simple," he said.

From Jakarta, Agustina-Iswar plans to go directly to Semarang to take part in the handover of positions in the Plenary Room of the Semarang City DPRD at the Semarang City Hall complex.

In the Semarang City Hall area, tents have also been installed for the people's party titled Semarang Mangayu Bagyo.

Semarang Mangayu Bagyo, he said, was not just a celebration, but also a momentum to strengthen synergies in building a more advanced and prosperous city.

The event was open to the public, free of charge, and the public were invited to attend and enjoy the excitement of entertainment and culinary together.

Not only entertainment, but events are also a place for togetherness by presenting various special Semarang culinary dishes, such as babat fried rice, Bakmijowo, meatballs, soto, chicken satai, angkringan, and various traditional drinks.

As part of the welcoming procession, the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Semarang will arrive at the airport and welcome them with the Semarangan dance, the cultural attraction Warak Ngendog, and the flower draping.

They will then go to Semarang City Hall with a motorcade, accompanied by school students, volunteers, and residents who crowded along the route.

Arriving at City Hall, there will be an official welcome by Forkopimda accompanied by the chanting of the salawat.

After the handover procession for positions and remarks from the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Semarang, the event will continue with people's entertainment.

Several cultural performances that will enliven the event include, among others, lion dance, dragon lion, and clove performances from the Band Senopati, Tect Band, and Dewandaru.
