With Orange Vests For KPK Detainees, Ms. Ita Had Bowed Down And Run When She Was About To Be Photographed

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detained the Mayor of Semarang Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu alias Mbak Ita and her husband who is also the Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java Provincial DPRD, Arwin Basri today. Both will be detained in detention for the next 20 days.

"That HGR and AB were detained at the Class 1 State Detention Center in East Jakarta, the KPK Detention Center Branch," said KPK Deputy Chair Ibnu Basuki Widodo at a press conference on detention at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, February 20.

From observations at the location, Mbak Ita and her husband appeared to be wearing orange vests and handcuffed hands. When they entered the press conference room so that journalists could take photos of them, Mbak Ita chose to look down and she covered her face with a mask as well as her husband.

After being invited into the transit room, Mbak Ita, who first walked, suddenly got excited while looking down.

This condition made Mbak Ita's shoulder hit the wall slowly near the entrance. While her husband chose to walk normally.

There are three cases that ensnared Mbak Ita and her husband. The details are related to the procurement of seat tables for elementary school fabrication at the Semarang City Education Office for the 2023 fiscal year.

Then related to the arrangement on the direct appointment project at the sub-district level for the 2023 fiscal year. Finally, there was a request for money from the Mayor of Semarang to Bapenda Semarang City.

As previously reported, the KPK has detained two suspects in a corruption case within the Semarang City Government (Pemkot), Central Java on Friday, January 17.

They are Martono who is the Chairman of the Association of Indonesian National Construction Implementers (Gapensi) of Semarang City and Rachmat Djangkar.

Martono was detained for allegedly participating in receiving gratuities together with the Mayor of Semarang Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu alias Mbak Ita and her husband, Alwin Basri who also serves as Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java Provincial DPRD.

Meanwhile, Rachmat was detained for allegedly giving bribes related to the procurement of tables and elementary school chairs at the Semarang City Education Office.

Currently, there are three allegations of corruption that allegedly occurred and are being investigated. The details are the procurement of goods and services at the Semarang City Government in 2023-2024, the alleged extortion of civil servants related to incentives for collecting taxes and levies in the Semarang City area as well as the alleged receipt of gratuities in 2023-2024.
