South Jakarta Tourism Office Will Search Gay Party At Hotel Kemang Area, South Jakarta, Threatens To Revoke Permit

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Parekraf) will trace information about the holding of a same-sex male party (Party Gay) at a hotel in the Kemang area, South Jakarta.

"We will check (investigate)," said Acting Head of the South Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-dept., Iffan Radja when confirmed, Tuesday, February 11.

Radja admitted that he had just learned of the activity at the hotel. Therefore, he plans to conduct a direct check at the location.

"We'll check. We'll try to go there (hotel) together," he said.

He also confirmed that he would revoke the business license from the hotel, if it was true that there was an activity of the party between men.

"We are closed, we will revoke (the permit)," he concluded.

Previously, the police investigated allegations of holding a gay party at a hotel with the initials M in the Kemang area, South Jakarta.

Head of Public Relations of the South Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Nurma Dewi admitted, based on the initial investigation, it did lead to the party. However, this is still being investigated to ensure the truth.

"It has been checked, it is true (the male group). But the terap must be investigated," said Nurma when confirmed, Friday, February 7

The alleged gay party was held at a hotel in the Kemang area, South Jakarta, detected through an e-flyer that has been circulating on social media lately.

The results of VOI's monitoring some time ago at the hotel, it was true that a party called the NPNC (Now Party Near Closet) was held routinely every week.

Guest relationship officer (GRO) Hotel with the initials V revealed that visitors to homosexual parties (Gay Party) who come to Hotels in the Kemang area, South Jakarta, do not disturb or tease other visitors. They come with their respective partners and enjoy the party that takes place.

"They are not barbaric (barbaric) how come (disturbing) he comes with his respective partners," V told VOI, Sunday, January 14.

V explained, even though it was called a Gay Party, the participants did not only contain men. There were several women in the party.

"Not all of them. There are also women. Their people (Gay) are around 70-80 percent," he said.

Therefore, he said that this party is still open to new visitors. Organizing parties is part of the hotel.

"This is part of the hotel," he said.
