Marunda Flats Chosen To Be Indonesia's Joint Space

JAKARTA - The central government and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government have chosen Rusunawa Marunda as one of Indonesia's Joint Spaces (RBI). This RBI program is presented to create a safe space for women and children throughout Indonesia, through various programs of social, economic, and environmental intervention.

Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta Teguh Setyabudi admitted that this was based on a proposal from the DKI Provincial Government to propose RPTRA in the Marunda Flats to be included in the RBI program.

"Last week we went to the Minister of PPA to follow up on the letter we submitted to the Minister of Proposal of several RPTRAs, among others, was the RPTRA in Marunda to become one of the examples," said Teguh at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, February 11.

"Therefore, the Minister of PPA together with other ministries will visit the Marunda RPTRA. Hopefully later we can follow up to SKB, a kind of mutual agreement for us to follow up," he continued.

Teguh emphasized that the selection of RPTRA Rusun Marunda in the RBI pilot project was decided because of its great potential in building an ecosystem that allows women to maximize their role.

"We have conveyed many aspects to him why we chose the RPTRA Marunda, among others, related to gender problems. We hope that later the problems of children there are also quite large housing there, there are also potentials that we can use for MSMEs," explained Teguh.

Currently, Jakarta has 324 RPTRAs that have been used by the community. Teguh hopes that in the future the RPTRA can also be developed as a Joint Space for Indonesia which is not only friendly for children, but also for women and families.

Meanwhile, Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Choiri Fauzi explained, RBI is a collaboration room for synergy between existing ministries and institutions, as requested by President Prabowo Subianto.

"Currently, we see that from various ministries there are extension workers at the village level, there are village assistants, there are various terms from each ministry. But at this time everything is like working individually in the corner there, it's in the corner here, so in this Joint Room we try to collaborate to connect together," explained Arifah.
