Homecoming Is Clearly A Tradition, Head of City Police M. Firman: Don't Bring COVID To Banyumas, Love Your Family

BANYUMAS - The Head of the Banyumas Police, Grand Commissioner M. Firman L. Hakim, asked people who are receptive to homecoming for Lebaran 2021 not to bring COVID-19 into the area.

"Indeed, homecoming is a tradition. Our hope is that we will not prohibit or prevent it," he told reporters while monitoring the implementation of health protocols in the shopping area of Kebondalem, Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, April 20.

Head of City Police hopes that people who want to go hometown to Banyumas are in good health. "Don't import (bring, ed.) the disease to Banyumas, pity our brothers and sisters in Banyumas who have gone to a healthy Banyumas," he said.

Therefore, he said, travelers who come to the Banyumas area will still have their health checked even though they have brought a certificate of being free from COVID-19, both based on a swab, antigen, and GeNose C19 test with negative results.

He explained that the check was carried out to find out whether the travelers were in good health or unhealthy.

"Even though to this day, Banyumas Regency is not a homecoming destination, but later we will see what the proper procedures are. Don't let it say that Banyumas is isolated, Banyumas is locked down, that is not done in Banyumas Regency," he said.

Thus, he said, travelers who are in good health will be considered to be allowed to enter the Banyumas area. "Those who are not healthy may not enter," he said.

He said the travelers would still be checked by officers at the Banyumas Regency boundary.

He explained that at the border area of Banyumas Regency there would be a small complete unit (UKL) consisting of the National Army (TNI)/Police (Polri) and local government personnel to check on travelers.

"Keep them checked, not allowed. If they are healthy, then we will consider it (to enter Banyumas, ed.), But if they are sick, don't do it. Yes again, don't import diseases into Banyumas," he said.
