BMKG: Rain In Several Big Cities In Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the weather in most areas in Indonesia on Sunday, January 26 has the potential to rain.

"In Java, in general, light to moderate rain such as Jakarta, Serang, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya," said BMKG forecaster Andika F. Hapsari in a weather forecast broadcast in Jakarta.

As for Sumatra, light to moderate rain is predicted in Banda Aceh, Medan, Tanjung Pinang, Pekanbaru, Palembang and Pangkal Pinang.

Meanwhile, Padang and Bengkulu are forecasted to be thick cloudy. Jambi and Bandar Lampung are forecasted for heavy rain with high intensity accompanied by lightning.

"In the Denpasar and Mataram areas, light to moderate rain is predicted. Kupang is expected to rain heavily," he said.

Furthermore, he said, in the Kalimantan region, the weather generally has the potential to rain with heavy intensity accompanied by lightning and strong winds in Pontianak, Palangka Raya, Tanjung Selor and Banjarmasin. Meanwhile, Samarinda rained with light intensity.

Moving to the Sulawesi area, he continued, the areas of Mamuju, Manado, Makassar and Kendari have the potential to rain with light to moderate intensity. Meanwhile, Gorontalo and Palu are predicted to experience heavy rain accompanied by lightning.

In Eastern Indonesia, he said, light to moderate rain is generally predicted, such as in Sorong, Nabire, Ambon, Jayawijaya, Manokwari, and Jayawijaya with the potential for light to moderate rain.

Meanwhile, Merauke and Ternate have the potential for heavy rain which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds. Jayapura is predicted to be foggy/sap.
