Great! Surabaya City Government Encourages Procurement Of 42 BYD M6 Electric Cars For Head Of Service

Surabaya City Government, East Java continues to boost the procurement of 42 electric cars intended for a number of service heads in the local city.

Head of the Procurement Section for Goods or Services and Development Administration of the Surabaya City Government, Ali Murtadlo, said that the procurement of electric cars with rental systems is targeted to be fully fulfilled next week, including vehicles for the Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi.

"13 have arrived (from the provider), 42 units including the mayor's (car)," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 9.

He said all electric cars imported from the provider will come next week. If the provider cannot meet the needs of the specified unit, it will be transferred to other providers.

"Not (all) have arrived, if it doesn't arrive this week, then the provider will be (substitutional) with other providers. So yesterday there was already a provider, now it is able to bring in early January, when later it can't be brought in, we have to take steps to be fulfilled immediately," he said.

Ali mentioned the type of car that will be used the same, namely the TYD M6 type. If the first provider cannot meet the needs of the unit next week, the city government will order other providers with the same type of car and rental price.

He said the budget prepared for rental per unit was Rp. 13 million per month where the Surabaya City Government entered into a contract for the next year.

The 13 electric cars that were just imported this week have not been signed because the contracts will be carried out after going through a trial period this month.

"The type is the same, we will deadline it next week, otherwise we will look for other providers. With the same type and price," he said.

The reason providers have not been able to bring in electric car units as a whole was due to high demand.

In addition, there are limited units of BYD M6 electric cars. This type of electric car has a capacity of seven passenger seats with a battery capacity of 55.4 kWh and is capable of traveling up to 420 kilometers.

"There are a lot of people who ask, so the unit comes out, comes out again. Indeed, he is very enthusiastic about this M6, like the one used by a taxi in Jakarta, it seems like it," he said.
