The SAR Team For The Evacuation Of Bodies Suspected Of Being A Bikini Foreigner With Cross Tattoos At The Uluwatu Cliff, Bali

Bali Basarnas evacuated the body of a woman suspected of being a foreign national (WNA) under the cliff of Luhur Uluwatu Temple in the tourist attraction area of Uluwatu, Badung Regency.

Head of Basarnas Bali I Nyoman Sidakarya said the evacuation process was not easy because the body of the corpse was seen face down on the rocks.

"Initial information was received this morning at around 10:20 WITA from the Badung Regency Balawista, due to extreme conditions, they asked for help to evacuate," he said, Thursday, January 9.

Basarnas Bali then deployed 12 personnel equipped with extriction equipment because the victim's position was below the cliff with a height of 68 meters above sea level.

Before the team installed a system to deploy personnel, field observations were carried out first using the thermal drone, after confirming the position of the body, one person was lowered slowly, "said Sidakarya.

During the evacuation process, the SAR team could not linger because the water conditions in Uluwatu began to install and had the potential to drain the victim's body.

After about 1.5 hours down the cliff of Luhur Uluwatu Temple, finally at 13.25 WITA the victim was taken to the top of the cliff.

Sidakarya said the woman's body was suspected to be a foreigner, evident from her physical characteristics, namely white skin, but until now her identity has not been identified.

"From physical posture and characteristics such as foreigners, from white skin, dark hair color, there is a cross tattoo on the back, a posture of about 160 cm," he said.

When found, the victim was suspected to be a foreigner, he only wore a black bikini with an open wound on his body and was estimated to have broken his right leg.

The joint SAR team then took the unidentified body to Prof. Ngoerah Hospital in Denpasar.
