PDIP Asks KPK To Be Professional: Don't Ask For Controversy And Dramatization Aspects To The Public

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is professional in handling allegations of bribery in the management of interim replacement (PAW) members of the DPR and the obstruction of the investigation that ensnared PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto.

This was conveyed by the Chairman of the PDIP DPP Ronny B. Talapesy after KPK investigators searched two Hasto houses in Bekasi, West Java and Kebagusan, South Jakarta on Tuesday, January 7. Initially, this lawyer highlighted the evidence found by the KPK.

"We need to convey that in the two searches there was no significant evidence related to the case. During the search in Bekasi, the confiscated items were 1 USB and 1 notebook belonging to Kusnadi (Hasto Kristiyanto staff)," said Ronny in a written statement, Tuesday, January 8.

"Meanwhile, during the search in Kebagusn, no items were confiscated," he continued.

This condition made Ronny question the suitcase brought by investigators from Hasto's house. "We don't know if it has contents or is empty," he said.

According to him, it doesn't make sense when investigators only confiscate flash drives and small books but use suitcases.

"Our client has never felt like he owns or uses the USB confiscated by the KPK," said Ronny.

Thus, the KPK was asked to be professional. Do not let the investigation of this case be dramatized.

Ronny ensured that if all the principles of law enforcement were obeyed by the KPK, then his party would cooperate. "We hope that the KPK will work professionally, not highlighting aspects of controversy and excessive Dramatic towards the public," he said.

"As Mr. Hasto Kristiyanto's attorney, we appreciate the steps taken by the KPK as long as it is in accordance with the criminal procedural law," explained the party cadre bearing the bull symbol.

As previously reported, Hasto has been named a suspect along with Donny Tri Istiqomah, who is a PDIP cadre and a lawyer as a suspect in alleged bribery related to the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the DPR.

They are suspected of bribing Wahyu Setiawan who served as KPU Commissioner to smooth Harun Masiku's steps to parliament.

This politician is also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.
