Kick Off Free Nutrition, SPPG Jakarta Prepares 12,054 Portions At 4 Points

JAKARTA - The government officially runs a free nutritious food program (MBG) simultaneously in 26 provinces today, Monday, January 6.

Acting Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office, Sarjoko, said that there are 4 points of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) or the MBG kitchen which will provide food for 12,054 students in Jakarta per day.

"In early January, there were four SPPGs that were ready starting tomorrow, namely SPPG Halim, SPPG Susukan Ciracas, SPPG Palmerah and SPPG Pulogebang Cakung, which in total will provide MBG for 12,054 beneficiaries," said Sarjoko in his statement, quoted Monday, January 6.

In detail, SPPG Halim provides food for 8 schools with 2,953 students, SPPG Ciracas prepares MBG for 9 schools with 3,055 students, SPPG Palmerah prepares for 11 schools with 2,987 students, and SPPG Pulogebang with 13 schools with 3,059 students.

"We are coordinating intensively with all SPPGs which are an extension of the National Nutrition Agency to ensure that the implementation of MBG in Jakarta runs smoothly," said Sarjoko.

Sarjoko said, there are 13 additional SPPGs that will start operating in the near future. Among them are the SPPG Mora Perkasa Foundation (Pulo Gadung) which operates starting January 9.

Then, SPPG which started serving MBG on January 13, namely SPPG Kemang 1, SPPG Buaran, SPPG Jakut, SPPG Assalam Cilacap Foundation (Ciracas), SPPG Hasanah Rohman Rohim Foundation (Cipayung), SPPG Hasanah Rohman Rohim Foundation (Pulo Gadung), SPPG Miftahsalam Riftah Mosque Foundation (Kebon Jeruk), SPPG Sagolicious (Kelapa Gading).

Then, the SPPGs operating from January 20 are the SPPG of the Tunas Cendekia Sejahtera Foundation (Tebet) and the SPPG Warakas. Furthermore, the North Thousand Islands SPPG and the Koja SPPG, the Titian Harapan Forum Foundation began operating on January 30.

The implementation of the MBG as of January 6 which took place in 26 provinces covering 190 MBG kitchens. The SPPG kitchens are scattered in the provinces of Aceh, Bali, West Sumatra, North Sumatra, Riau Islands, Riau, Lampung, Banten, West Java, DKI Jakarta, Central Java, East Java, DI Yogyakarta, Gorontalo, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Maluku, North Maluku, East Nusa Tenggara, West Papua, and South Papua.

The government targets 937 MBG kitchens to be achieved by the end of January 2025 with the implementation carried out in stages in accordance with the readiness of each region.

During January to March 2025, it is hoped that the MBG program can touch three million beneficiaries, consisting of toddlers, students, PAUD, Kindergarten, SD, SMP, SMA, and pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. This number will continue to grow to reach 15 million by the end of 2025.
