Prabowo Directs The Cabinet For The Form Of A Team To Handle Foreign Investment In The Housing Sector

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto directed ministers in the Red and White Cabinet (KMP) to quickly form a team in handling investment interests in Indonesia from foreign investors in the housing sector.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Housing and Settlements, Maruarar Sirait, who said that the formation of the team refers to the high interest of foreign investors in investing as shown, after President Prabowo conducted several domestic trips, such as to China, the Middle East region, to the United States.

"We have to be ready, how will there be investment in the housing sector. The team is the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Bappenas, the Minister of ATR, then there will be the Minister of SOEs, then the Minister of Law, there will also be from banks, then also from BPKP, this is so that everything runs legally," said Maruarar, in the Presidential Palace area, Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 7.

Maruarar said the team needed to be prepared, so that when there are investors who are really ready to invest in the housing sector, it will be good in terms of land preparation to the side that has an impact on the economy, it can be explained immediately without taking time.

The team is also needed to ensure the preparation of the rights and obligations provisions between Indonesia and investors, so that later the partnership that will be established prioritizes the principle of mutual respect.

In addition, of course, the team will ensure that Indonesia's national interests must still be maintained even though there are investments from foreign parties entering Indonesia.

"We prioritize our national interests, and also how to have an impact on quality economic growth in Indonesia. So we also got directions from him (President Prabowo) to prepare a solid team," said Maruarar.

The housing sector under Prabowo Subianto's leadership is one of the fields included in the list of 17 priority programs to be developed.

The Head of State targets that every year the government will build three million houses per year for the community so that they have decent housing.

President Prabowo Subianto during the final presidential candidate for the 2024 presidential election in early February this year promised to build 3 million houses per year.
