Because Of Firecrackers, Residents Of The Karang Anyar Flat Clash Sharp Weapons With Sawah Besar Residents

JAKARTA - A brawl between groups of teenagers broke out on Jalan G Raya, Karang Anyar Village, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta on Friday, January 3, 2025.

The perpetrators involved in the brawl were residents of the Karang Anyar flat and local residents. The cause of the brawl was triggered by the eruption of fireworks and mocking each other between them.

Head of Karang Anyar Village, Matani said, the commotion occurred because of mocking each other and firing fireworks. His party has been guarding around the crime scene (TKP) since Wednesday, January 1, 2024.

"It happened in the morning, we will guard it until early morning (maintain). Only if it sticks out maybe, the names are children," said Matani when confirmed, Friday, January 3, 2025.

Matani said that his party had not facilitated both parties to mediate. This is because, continued Matani, the case of the brawl has been handled by the Central Jakarta Metro Police.

"It is being handled by the police. It is being investigated again," he said.

The brawl between the two groups of teenagers took place on Jalan G Raya, Karang Anyar, Sawah Besar District, Central Jakarta.

In a video circulating on social media, two groups of teenagers can be seen attacking each other armed with sickles, wood, bottles, stones and firecrackers.

The brawl took place in the middle of a dense settlement. In the video, you can see broken bottles scattered on residential roads.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sawah Besar Police, AKP Sholeh, said that the two groups of teenagers involved in the brawl were between the children of the Karang Anyar Flat and children outside the Flats.

"The children of ABG (the number) are more than 10 (between) flat children and outside the Karang Anyar flat," he said.

Currently, the police are still investigating the cause of the brawl between groups of teenagers.
